A soft leaved, almost palm like Mahonia which flowers much earlier than other Mahonias. Yellow blooms between August and October. Great in sun or shade and grows to 1.5m. Avoid cold windy positions.

Dense, upright, evergreen shrub with leathery, spiny leaves. It is grown for its densely packed racemes of fragrant yellow flowers, which are frost resistant and look especially attractive in the autumn and winter sun.
