Each flower cluster is made up of large bracted white (sterile) blossoms and in the center are the small, fertile ivory blossoms. The colourful fruits that developed are bright red and then black once ripe. Leaves are a deep green and are oval with teeth on the edges and furrowed veins. Fall foliage is purplish red.
